- What do you think of Alfred Hitchcock's film-making style? How has he grown as a filmmaker from the time he made "Rear Window" to the time "Vertigo" was made? Provide evidence.
- How does cutting and editing allow Hitchcock to show "things that are not really there?" (i.e. think about the scene where Scottie watched Madeleine walk by in the restaurant or the beginning falling off the roof scene).
Alfred Hitchcock is regarded as an extraordinary filmmaker and the "master of suspense." Discuss ways in which he builds up the interest of the audience to get them involved in the story line, all the way to the "cliffhanger" (climax). Are there special techniques he uses to do this?
