Reminders
- 6th Grade Donations to your 1st period teacher
- Movie Night Friday, October 9th from 5 PM to 9 PM and will include pizza, samosas, spring rolls, carnival-like games, a photo booth, cookies, cupcakes, popcorn, cotton candy, music, performances, contests, prizes, and more. The movie, Big Hero 6, will begin at 7 PM on the lower field on a HUGE screen

Language Arts 
- finish reading the Newsela article from class and annotate an example for each of the following reading strategies:

• reread
• read ahead
• break the word up into parts — look for small words inside a big word
• reread the sentence and say "blank" instead of the word (using context clues)
• using a heading/title to tell what the next section is about    

- NoRedInk Assignment #2: Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement due next Mon. 9/21 
- Newsela article due next Mon. 9/21: Emmett Till's death and his role in the civil rights movement is remembered

Social Studies
