  3. How many centuries have passed since castles were first built in Europe?
  4. Paper money was invented in China in 910 C.E. In which century did this event take place?
  5. What event on the timeline took place in the third millenium B.C.E.?
  6. Which year occurred first — 9000 B.C.E. or 1000 B.C.E.?
  7. How many events on the timeline occurred before the common era? How many occurred during the common era?
  8. How many years are there between the invention of the Phoenician alphabet in 1000 B.C.E. and Columbus reaching the Americas in 1492 C.E.?

  5. In what ways is the information represented in the calendar difficult to understand?
