  • one tbsp. of oil (any kind)
  • one 1/2-cup of water
  • one 1/2-cup of water mixed with 4 tbsp. of salt, 10 drops of one food coloring color
  • one 1/2-cup of water mixed with 8 tbsp. of salt, 10 drops of another food coloring color
  • medicine dropper
  • straw, cut in half
  • a chunk of play-doh or potato (some sort of stopper) to plug one end of the straw so liquid does not come out
