Important Reminders
- Turn in late work by Fri. 11/4
- October Scholastic Book Orders due this Fri. 10/28 (if you plan on ordering something, make sure you come get a $5 coupon from Ms. Sun to use with your order)
- WEB Social permission slips due by this Fri. 10/28, social takes place on Friday from 3-4:30 (you have to be able to stay the whole time in order to attend)

Language Arts 
- in your Lucy Calkins Narrative Writing Unit Google Doc, make sure to add the following:

• learning target for Session Fifteen (on slide 3)
• one bullet for the "How to Write Powerful Personal Narratives" chart (on slides 11)
• an entry for 10/27/16: write a few powerful endings for your personal narrative that really conveys the meaning of your story

- NoRedInk Assignment #7: Identifying Sentences and Fragments due next Mon. 10/31

- Newsela assignment: read one article everyday (pick three from each text set so at the end of the week you will have read six articles, three from each category)

Election Issue: Terrorism and Security
Election Issue: Gun Control

Be prepared to answer these questions in Google Classroom — due next Mon. 10/31: 
Has the United States government done enough to protect its citizens from acts of terror?
Do you think our gun laws should change?
In your response, make sure you include textual evidence from some of the articles you read to support your opinion.
